Value Explained

What makes it valuable?

“Sticker shock is understandable for folks who aren't familiar with the artistry of wood and epoxy resin. They may ask the question: “Why would anyone pay that price for a clock?”  Well it's easily answered  when they look past the hands and digits on the clock's face.  This is much more than simple clock. It's not manufactured with a machine. It is not made of plastic, aluminum or other inexpensive materials and there aren't hundreds to thousands of other copies exactly like it.”

For those who are new to wood and resin products, it is important to note that first and foremost, each item is an art piece and a form of a craftsman's artistic expression. Just as much as an artist can express themselves with clay, glass, paint and a variety of other mediums, the three main ingredients used here are exotic woods, epoxy resins and skillful craftsmanship.

Exotic woods:

All of the products featured on this site are made from exotic, live-edge wood that is not milled or abundantly available in most lumber yards. They are expensive to purchase and challenging to obtain well before any individual artistic piece is conceived. Each item is made in a way to incorporate much of the wood’s natural shape & texture. This adds to the uniqueness of each piece and the fact that no two pieces are identical, even if the same color resin is used for two items.

Epoxy resin:

Resin is not only a costly substance to obtain, it can easy ruin an entire project along with tools, a work bench, a floor and plenty of other things when not handled correctly. Working with epoxy means getting through challenges such as unwanted dust, bubbles, temperature changes, tinting mishaps, flash curing failed techniques, toxic epoxy dust from sanding. There are plenty of ways that a wood and resin project can go very wrong. It takes time, patience, practice and mistakes can be extremely costly. The time, techniques and skill put into each product greatly increases its value over inexpensive, factory made products.

Craftsmanship:

Every artist has a way of approaching a subject to stamp their unique expression on it. I have no interests in creating river tables that actually look like rivers, beaches or lakes. Nor will I ever create a table with plastic gold fish, rocks, or bottle caps encapsulated in the resin. I’ve always been motivated by fine art and premium quality furnishings that match seamlessly with sophisticated and refined interior designs. My goal is to be consistent in maintaining high standards in the things I make and delivering products worthy of attention from the finest interior designers.
